All that we want & all that we need

We all think that we understand ourselves best & know better about what we want & what we need. But as often as it happens, we may not be cent percent right, even about our own selves… Or can we? Let us see…

Tell me, will it be wrong to say that human needs are ever-growing because our wants are never-ending? A bit confusing, right… Then, let me try & explain my point before you start doubting my sanity! So, what I am trying to explain is that our wants are often as trivial as the costliest electronic gadget, just launched in the market but, our needs are probably as demanding as the effort required to achieve a degree in the field of engineering!

OK, there's a distinction between wants & needs but, one may ask what difference does it make if we want something that we don’t really need, when we know that we'll make a need out of that want, once it is fulfilled? The answer is relatively simple as that's how we make a cocktail of our luxurious wants & basic needs & neglect the worth of all that we have against the alluring list of our never-ending wants, making them sound like our daily needs. & thus, human needs are ever-growing because our wants are never-ending… But, by over-ruling all that we have & all that we need, over all that we want & desire, we are making a grave mistake of letting our whims & fancies prevail over our prudence.

Let us stop fooling ourselves & try to judge the justification of claiming our wants to be indispensable in the faint yet, steady light of our simple & humble needs of food, shelter & clothing… Love, happiness & peace… Maybe then, we'll realize that we're on a wild-goose chase trying to fulfill our never-ending wants… Maybe then, we'll learn to be thankful & grateful for all that we are blessed with…
